Why homes are selling before they are listed

Yahoo Finance: Aussie homes are selling without being listed in growing private trend facing ‘desperate’ buyers

Yahoo Finance spoke with Jack for a national piece on the fast rise of off-market and pre-market sales, where a property changes hands without ever appearing on a public listing. Jack explained that fierce competition and unclear price guides are pushing more buyers toward these hidden opportunities.

He noted that at least 70 per cent of the purchases Buyers Collective now does are off-market or pre-market, and set out the honest trade-off: the access is real, but replicating it yourself means calling agents daily and treating the search as a full-time job.

As soon as something basically gets listed, there’s multiple offers. A lot of the time, a minimum of eight to 10 written offers on each property and they’re sold before the first open home.

The takeaway

Off-market is not a secret club. It is a relationship game. Agents bring the quiet listings to the buyers agents who they know are ready, pre-approved and will not waste their time.

You can absolutely do it yourself. It just means being on the phone to twenty-five agents a day, every day. That is the work we take off your plate.
