Auction Bidding

Auction bidding service in Brisbane

Auctions are designed to raise your limit. We set the strategy and the walk-away line with you before the day, then bid for you and hold that line under pressure.

Who it suits

For buyers with an auction coming up

  • The home you want is going under the hammer.
  • You've bid before and lost, or got carried away and paid more than you planned.
  • You'd rather not be the one with your hand up when the room heats up.

Still searching? Full Service Buying includes auction bidding if the right home goes to auction.

Why it matters

Why auctions push buyers past their limit

An auction squeezes a six- or seven-figure decision into a few minutes, in public, against people you can't read. The auctioneer's job is to keep the bidding moving, and one more bid always feels small in the moment.

In Queensland there's no cooling-off period on a home bought at auction, and the contract is usually unconditional. Finance, building and pest and a contract review all need to be done before the day.

The property due diligence checklist for buyers

We don't sell property. We represent buyers, so the only interest at the auction on our side is yours.

What's included

What our auction bidding service covers

Pre-auction strategy and limit setting

We work out what the home is worth from comparable sales and agree your limit with you before the day. The limit is yours. Our job is to hold it.

Professional bidding on the day

We bid for you with a plan for when to open, how to pace each bid and when to stop. The room doesn't set your price.

Post-auction negotiation if it passes in

If bidding stops short of the reserve, the highest bidder usually gets the first chance to negotiate with the seller. We take that conversation on for you.

How it works

How auction day runs with us

  1. 01

    Before the auction

We read the comparable sales, look at how the campaign has gone and agree a limit with you. You line up finance and have your solicitor review the contract.

  2. 02

    On the day

We register and bid on your behalf, to the plan and the limit we agreed.

  3. 03

    If it passes in

We negotiate with the selling agent straight away, with the same limit.

  4. 04

If the hammer falls your way

You sign the contract and pay the deposit that day, so check the deposit terms with your solicitor beforehand.

Ask about my auction
01What does an auction bidding service do?

We set your strategy and limit before the auction, bid for you on the day, and negotiate with the seller if the property passes in.

02How much does an auction bidder cost in Brisbane?

It depends on the property. A free discovery call covers what it is likely to cost and whether we're the right fit.

03Is there a cooling-off period at auction in Queensland?

No. A home bought at auction in Queensland has no cooling-off period, so do your checks before the day.

04What happens if the property passes in?

The highest bidder usually gets the first chance to negotiate with the seller. We take that negotiation on for you, with the same limit.

05Should I get a building and pest inspection before the auction?

Yes. Once the hammer falls there's no condition to fall back on, so any inspection has to happen before the day.
