Savings.com.au: “Which Sunshine Coast suburbs are primed for a breakout 2026?”
Savings.com.au asked Jack to pick the Sunshine Coast suburbs positioned for the strongest growth into 2026 and beyond. The region had just regained its title as Australia's most popular non-capital destination for internal migration, with the median house asking price around $1.2 million as of October, up 16.8 per cent year on year.
Jack's picks were Maroochydore, Caloundra West, Palmview, Nambour and Burnside, and Birtinya. In each case he tied the call to something concrete and already funded: the $2.5 billion Maroochydore City Centre and Olympic satellite village, the new rail line and Stockland's $5 billion Aura community around Caloundra West, the parkland and ecological works finishing in Palmview around 2036, the council's town-centre upgrades in Nambour, and the $200 million health precinct expansion at Birtinya.
“The Sunshine Coast's growth will be underpinned by interstate migration, a pipeline of infrastructure projects, and increased development and sentiment ahead of the 2032 Olympics. Coastal land is scarce, so master-planned communities and revitalised inland towns are where we see the best upside.”
Coastal land on the Sunny Coast is close to finished. That is the whole thesis. When you cannot make more beachfront, the growth has to move to the master-planned communities and the inland towns getting real money spent on them.
Every suburb on that list was picked off a funded project with a completion date, not a feeling. Palmview is the proof: we tipped it in January 2024 and house prices are up more than 20 per cent since, and the works there do not finish until around 2036.
